Description
A lovely and complete small cast iron cover and frame, very likely originally over a stop tap.
Manufactured by and stamped G W KIRK of York who from the late C19th and into the early C20th manufactured cast iron covers and street furniture. Even today walking around the historic streets of York you will still see original examples of their work and they are quite collectible.
At approx 9.5” square this is a perfect little example for decorative display or even to reuse for its original purpose.
