Description
Stunning example of a late medieval hand carved solid stone grotesque. This guy is so ugly he’s beautiful. Gargoyles and grotesques were placed on buildings to ward off evil spirits and I’m pretty sure this guy did his job. Exquisite example of stone carving.
Been kept indoors as part of a private collection so actually in really good condition with minimal wear.
Stands at approx 28” high so an impressive piece.
