Large Antique Stone Trough

Description
A stunning original early 19th Century stone trough reclaimed from a Yorkshire farm. Unlike a trough made to sit outside a grand country house this is a proper farm trough that was made to do a job, in this case to hold water from a spring for use on the farm, it needed to hold a certain volume of water so had to be big enough, therefore a huge piece of rock will have been hewn from the local quarry and although not perfectly regular in shape it was hand carved out and despite being set into a hillside was finished with lovely tooling marks all around the outside. I think these original farm troughs are full of character and at almost 7’ long and 4’ wide this is an impressive statement piece. Would look amazing planted up or as part of a stunning water feature. Further details and photos on request.
