Description
A stunning pair of salt glazed acorn finials. These were made by the Wilkinson Brick Works of Elland, West Yorkshire who stated trading in 1894. During the 1930’s the company looked into diversifying from bricks into more architectural and decorative pieces to try and expand its range, it is believed that only 6 examples of these were made as marketing pieces but ultimately they proved to be too costly to produce to be competitive and it’s very likely that these are the only surviving pair as they were kept by a descendant of the original company.
They stand at just under 2’ tall are in excellent condition and really are unique decorative pieces.
