Description
A stunning pair of Victorian cast iron bench ends by George Smith & Co of the Sun Foundry Glasgow dating from around 1860-79. Known as the squirrel design they are exceptional in their detail. The more you look at them the better they get. Superb condition! Timber replaced a couple of years ago with iroko hardwood which is turning a nice silvery colour. Bench just over 5’ in length. Unbelievably heavy. Easily last another 100+Years if looked after.
